I believe everyone has a dream, and these dreams vary from person to person. Realizing your own dream is not an easy task; it’s much harder than you might think. No matter how hard you try, there are times when you only seem to fail and feel like giving up.
That’s how I feel right now. My dream was to become wealthy. To achieve this, I worked tirelessly at any job, no matter how tough, to save money.
However, in my country, the wages are so low that a day’s salary only covers a day’s food expenses. Therefore, it was difficult for me to save. Eventually, I thought working in my country was not enough, so I decided to go abroad and work in China. I worked in China for a year, but I wasn’t able to save as much as I had hoped. Despite my efforts, I was disappointed that I didn’t accumulate much money. Then, feeling that everything was pointless and futile, I returned to my country and spent my days aimlessly.
One day, a friend who came to visit said, “The most important thing in the world is to be happy.” Hearing this, I had a realization. I had always worked for money, but I never felt happy. I’m not saying money isn’t important. What I mean is that feeling “happy” is more important than money. So now, my dream has changed. It’s not about becoming rich, but about being happy.
When I think about the happiest time in my life, I remember my childhood. As a child, I spent carefree days swimming in the river with friends for about five hours each day \u2013 it was so much fun. I wish I could go back to those days, but that’s impossible.
My current dream is to return to the village where I lived during my childhood and live there until I die. I am working hard now to make this dream come true.
