I’ve been in Japan for a year and a half now. Time seems to have passed without notice. During this time, I’ve experienced many struggles. There were moments that were sour, sweet, and enjoyable, and I’ve truly had a variety of experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A year ago, I came to a completely unknown foreign country and started my life. Everything around me was new and unlike anything I had ever experienced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the first year, being away from family and friends was lonely, but I studied Japanese diligently to adapt quickly to life in Japan. I sometimes felt the loneliness of living alone, the confusion when I couldn’t communicate, and financial insecurity. However, by staying positive and receiving help from others, as well as helping them, I gradually felt that I could manage on my own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As my Japanese improved, I made more friends. I will graduate in March. I have always felt grateful for coming to Japan. Living here, I have grown incredibly fond of Japanese cuisine. I have broadened my horizons through exposure to Japanese culture and education, and I have grown gradually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
