There might have been times when you felt so disappointed that you didn’t want to do anything. What did you do during such times? I believe that by thinking positively and keeping a smile on my face, I can overcome any hardship. As a child, I often observed the events happening around me. Whether it was a colony of ants transporting food to their nest, a tree growing, or a flower blooming, these were all wonderful occurrences. One day, a large branch from a palm tree in the garden fell and broke a branch of the rose bush. I thought the rose bush would surely die. However, about a week later, I noticed new buds sprouting near the broken area. Even with a broken branch, the bush grew new leaves, reaching towards the sun. Unlike plants, which don’t blame anything when a branch breaks and think ‘now I will die,’ humans tend to give up their goals when faced with difficulties. If we could live like plants, perhaps we wouldn’t give up our goals so easily when facing challenges. I believe that if we learn from our failures, we can eventually achieve our goals. About two years ago, I needed to pass an English proficiency test to graduate from university. At that time, I was also studying for the Japanese moped license test. I studied for the moped license every day from 8 am to 5 pm at HIKARI Japanese Language School. Studying for the moped license was extremely difficult, with Japanese driving rules, Kanji, and more. I was completely exhausted from studying eight hours a day, but since graduating from university was also important, I went straight to a tutoring center after finishing my moped license study and studied English until 9:30 pm. Coupled with long-term sleep deprivation, my body was fatigued and completely drained. Even now, the memory is painful. After studying hard, I took the English exam but failed. Perhaps I failed because I only studied for about two weeks and my knowledge was insufficient. So, I took the exam again, but failed once more. I didn’t give up and tried for a third time, but failed again. At that point, I was so dejected, I didn’t want to do anything. I wondered, “If I go to Japan, I won’t be able to graduate from university, what should I do? Should I give up? I’ve failed several times, and if I go to Japan and then re-enroll in university two years later, I would disappoint my parents.” I was troubled and even cried while discussing it with a friend. It was an embarrassing memory. But I believed in myself and looked for solutions with a smile. Without giving up, I analyzed why I failed, what knowledge I was lacking, and studied desperately. On the day of the exam, it was raining heavily, but I persevered and took the test. My efforts paid off and I finally passed. This was an unforgettable experience for me. Throughout life, we will encounter various obstacles. However, let’s overcome these challenges with an unyielding spirit and a positive mindset. Believe in yourself; you are more capable than you think. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Everyone has faced difficulties or experienced failure at some point.
